Different Background / Page Color in Header vs Post and side bard

Hi,

Sorry if this is redundant or too easy for most of you here, but I don't know programming very much.

I use a standard blogger template which has just one page bakcground colur. What I want to do is to have one background color for the header (dark/wedgewood blue), a different one for the posting area (while) and a third one for the column on the left (light blue).

Can someone explain to this non-technical dude how to accomplish that?

If it can be done?

Many thanks!

You can change the colors in the customize option.

What template are you using?

Hey rpbu.com,

I want to change to the Minima Lefty Stretch. I know extremely little html coding (assume not much more than <br>, <b></> type of coding so I am very nervous about doing any of this.

Appreciate any tips that won't get me into trouble.

You don't really need to know any HTML with blogger templates and the customizing feature. You just pick what you want and Blogger sets up the template and HTML for you.

If you do change your template make a back up coppy of your current one just in case.

I think you are not totally correct, no disrespect intended.

Yes you pick the template and can change some of the colours. But if you want to have each area with its own background colour, that is a change to the template thru HTML coding. For some of their templates, you can't even select the background colour. In the one I referenced above I can have one and only one background colour. What I want to do is to have the header with one, the main posting area with another and the border with a third background colour. It won't let me do that I don't think without html coding.

Or, am I not looking in the right area?

Better learn the basic of html or xml so that you won't be nervous in editing your codes...
It's easy to learn if you're really interested...
