I read on another forum that Akismet was "the best thing since sliced bread" and since I'm sick of dealing with 250 to 300 pieces of comment spam every time I check my blog, I decided to use it. First thing that confused me was a reference to having to have an API key. I checked my account and didn't see anything that seemed to correspond, downloaded the plugin, put it in the appropriate folder and activated it. No dire warnings popped up and everything seemed okay until the next time I decided to post and to get rid of accumulated comment spam. Now, no matter what I do, I end up on a blank page that says "done" at the bottom left. The only way I've gotten out of that is to use the browser back button. ?????
All I can figure is that the plugin isn't compatible with the old version of WordPress that I'm using (it's a fossil, just like me! I haven't updated from version 1.5.2 because I'm afraid of losing the tiny bit of page rank that has miraculously attached itself to my blog.)
Can anyone help me out here?
