you can sell text links or banner ads depending on your PR or impressions per day

When I was starting off I found the best way was to sell sponsored posts. You can do that if you sign up to Blogitive, Blogsvertise, Creamaid, PayPerPost, Smorty and places like that. You'll probably require some decent (original) content before these programs accept you. Also be aware that you need to balance your sponsored and regular posts carefully - if you write too many sponsored posts you'll scare away your visitors.
You also need to build up your traffic. You do this by writing regular, unique and informative content in your blog and by submitting your link to directories and such like. Regular content is the key - the fresher your content the more the SEs will come looking.

Depending on the topic of your blog... you can write reviews about products or services and place your affiliate link within your post.

I would avoid donations unless you already have a good blog with lots of content and loyal audience. Asking for donations is a bit naff in my opinion.

Get yourself some quality content, quality backlinks, and wait to see what happens.
Also, dont put all your eggs in one basket with just using Adsense.
There are tons of places you can make money with.
Lurk moar.

Getting donation is one part of it, or even give an offer to some company that you will review the products with a little advertisement fees.

Just because you are not in the U.S. doesn't mean there aren't programs for you. Amazon, is just one example of international affiliate marketing.

Personally, I think Adsense sucks. I would rather use that valuable space to sell an affiliate product that will pay me more per sale, than to send the traffic to someone elses site for them to make money per sale.
Adsense is content driven, so just use affiliate links and banners in the same niche.

Money come only to bloggers who are really good in some topic (hobby, major, profession, talent, knowledge, experience...)
