Lightbulb Joomla for blogging? any plugins? mods?

Hi,
I've started to use joomla on my site as a blogging script. I like its interface compared to wordpress... But for seo-wise, it is obvious that wordpress is much more effective choice
Anyway... If you have any recommendation to make joomla more search engine friendly, populated site... Please let me know... I use joomla1,5 version so most mambots doesnt work
But I would really appreciate any help/recommendation since I need a lot

Here is a resource to help you with Google Indexing: http://forum.mamboserver.com/showthread.php?t=63543

Secondly, Joomla is great to use but is a VERY heavy script to use and is not spider friendly. Wordpress, yes they do provide a way to give a light way to be indexed with no issues as it's built in their script and others may download more plugins to enhance this for them.

You can do a search for joomla spider plugins or indexing tricks to enhance your indexing and crawling. Another way is to embed a meta tag which will crawl your site every few days or however many times you want.

Place the below code in your header above </head>

Code:
<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="INDEX,FOLLOW">

There are addons to enhance J1.5 SEO

Here's one that seems to have some good reviews (and it's up to date for J1.5.3!):

Joomlatwork SEF patch for Joomla release 1.5 Stable

I'll likely be installing this shortly on my current project.

There is talk that this will be natively packed with J1.6, but we'll have to wait for that. (again!)

My current project is my first for J1.5... I'm still in basic setup and config stages at the moment, so I haven't looked around at any plugins seriously yet.

J1.5 can only get better from here!

First of all, you do realize you are a few versions back, and you do realize that hackers love to target Joomla sites...right?

I'd suggest either switching to WP or find some better Joomla support in their forums.

Joomla 1.5.x does not fly sub-version numbers and will only show as "Joomla 1.5" in the generator tag. It's possible he's up to date.

I use com SEF for change url to the more SEO-Friendly.
I think it is really work pretty good for my site.
And use "new post / popular post" for the easy for bot to crawling your site.
By the way, I found plug-in "related-post" for Wordpress. Joomla have the plugin like this?
