Yes, but I think there are more advantages than disadvantages. I felt the warm welcome of my blogspot blogs when I announced my real name on my recently launched WP blog. They mentioned that I am now more of a serious blogger. |

Yes thats true it really depends on the type of blog you have. For example if you have a professional/company blog, you should address your name as an author to signify that you created it. And if you decide to create a personal blog and love to hide yourself as someone else, then you still can. It's a free blogging country. Is really using a name/real name an issue? I don't think so. What matter most is what kind of blog you have and how will the readers will benefit from it. (aside from you love to earn $$$ hehehe)

I think your name is part of your personal brand. As long as you're using a consistent username, then go for it. I use a consistent username (sneakyheathen), but I also use my real name for my websites.

well, if you want to be famous then use your real names... plus i like the idea of people googling your name to know more about you.

What about pictures? Does anyone put pictures of themselves in recognisable places in their blogs?
I only put pictures if they aren't near the area I live, that way people won't be able to 'find' me, should they want to  |

It is very simple, if you are damn serious about your blog, you have to use ur name...if u r blogging just because some else is then u better not. With my experience i can say that if u display ur identity in ur blog, there are more chances of ppl to trust u and read ur blog
