"Do Follow" Comments
Well I finally decided I was tired of the heaps of spam that I was deleting quite often and changed my blog to only use "do follow" for registered commentators.
I was curious how many others on here use "do follow" vs "no follow"

@Karooki, use anti-spamming plug-ins if ur using wordpress such as Askimet then close commenting for old posts automatically, i guess there's a plug-in for that or moderate comments.

we're dofollow on both blogs because nofollow sucks. akismet gets them all anyway (300 a day sometimes)

Death to the 'Registration Require for Commenting'. Why make it harder than need be for a passer by to leave a comment?

I have 2 do-follow blogs. Askimet works just fine. I would recommend holding comments until approved by administrator.

I use do follow on my blogs, but I am a believer that making someone register to post a comment will only eventually drive people away. Many people do not want to be bothered with registering at every site they visit. Askimet is great and also moderating your comments might seem like a lot of work, but well worth it.

A quick captcha should do the trick since most spamming are done by scripts. After I installed one such scheme to one of my websites, spam literally went down 99.9%.

Everybody should be dofollow, and employ other spam controlling techniques. There are tons of spam mods out there that can be used in conjunction with dofollow to limit spam.

I have dofollow blogs, whether your blog is nofollow or not, you will get spammed. Lots of spammers are looking not only for generating links, but just putting tons of links out there to get traffic, II think manual moderation is the ultimate solution to end spam.
