Blogging techniques?
Hi,
I am not really new on this field but there are some techniques that i need to know when it comes to blogging. I just submit my blog to many directory sites. Do you think is that enough to promote my site?

you also need to submit your blog story to social bookmarking sites to have visitors.

You should get links from relevant sites also to promote that.

No, blog promotion I think is the hardest part but there are a lot of ways.
1.0 Quality forum posting with an attractive signature. But read the Rules and Regulations first and follow them religiously.
2.0 Viral Marketing - here is a good one FreeViral.com
3.0 Post quality comments on top blogs.
4.0 Join Social sites and microblogging such as Digg and Twitter.
5.0 Submit articles to quality article directories. But I suggest you re-write your articles to avoid the original post to suffer when someone Googles it.
I think directory submission is more on building links rather than blog promotion.
But on top of them all, make quality posts that can convince readers to post a comment or subscribe to your posts.

one has to do PPC, SEO and other stuff to get traffic for the site and then do their business but now that as blog can be updated daily and with ease

You can also try adding some images in your blog and try to optimize them. It's also a good way of promoting your site. Through this way, you can get traffic from image search results...

Always ping your blogs every time you update it. Do social bookmarking also not just Directory Submissions... Forum also only those "Quality Forums".

Its more like of social networking. Promoting your blog in terms of videos, images, texts, flash, or broadcasting your new blog to your friends, family, neighbors etc.  (i think mass email submission is also considered)

There is RSS/Feeds submission, forum posting, blog commenting and joining blogging networks, articles submission and press release submission, social bookmarking, optimizing your posts all the time, ping your blog right after you post an entry for the day and more...
