New Flash Question

Sorry. I'm trying really hard to learn this thing

What am I doing wrong?

Fading text.

I create the text as a symbol and add it to the stage on it's own layer. I create a second keyframe. I select the second keyframe and then the symbol. For color I select alpha at 0% which makes the symbol invisible. I then create a motion tween between keyframe one and two.

If I just play it or manually drag the timeline it fades just as it should. If I go to control / test movie, the fade effect doesn't work.

What am I leaving out?

I found the answer. Here it is in case anyone runs into the same problem later.

Create a new text box on the stage. In the properties box click on the Characters button. Make your choice as to which fonts to embed. Only embedded fonts will work for the fade effect.
