Search bar

I don't know if this is possible or not.

I have a searchable directory written in PHP. Is there any simple way to place a search form on an offsite script that will bring up the results page on our site in a new window?

Ex. search "cats" and the it pops up our site with the search results for cats.

I'd just like to be able to offer a snippet people can add to their sites with little trouble.

?????

Just use the same form that you use, and specify a target in the form tag. Should open the results in a new window.

south it all depends on how your PHP currently knows what the user typed in ('cats') is it in the _POST or _GET ??

if it's _GET then a link like www.site.com/search.php?term=cats would search for cats,

if it's _GET or _POST then
Code:
<form target="_blank" method="post" action="http://www.site.com/search.php">...
in other words give them your form with the whole page URL in not just a relative path.
