flash load time

Please advise. New to flash
We were looking at add a bunch of rotating photos about 40

Wondering if this will slow down our flash load time, Want to have a bunch of images but dont want to slow down site.

attached is sample with about 5 pics....

Depends if you embed the images directly in the flash file or if you have flash load them in as they're needed after the page has loaded. If you take the second option it won't slow down your load time too much. You probably will have to embed at least the starting image in the flash file, but if you can keep this small it should be fine.

That depends on what you mean by “too much.” I know precious little about Flash but according to this eye opening video by Nicole Sullivan who’s a performance expert, a page taking less than half of a second longer to load makes a big difference to your users. Also bear in mind that many users (like myself) are still on dial-up which multiplies that load time significantly.
