php fopen?

Hello,

I have a php piece of code on my website, to check if a link is present on a remote url or not.
To do that, at some point I am using "fopen($url)" to see if the url does exist or not.

Now, I found out that for some url (that does exist when I type it manually), fopen($url) returns false...
Why would that be ?

It could be a security issue on the server you are trying to connect to.

I typically use Server.CreateObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP") to check URL's. If it's a security issue then there probably isn't much you can do.

Are you sure you are typing in the correct address?

You should post a copy of the script with the url you are trying to access to see if it's a coding error or actually a security error.
