tables

Hi,
I hope I am in the correct section. I am just looking for a little directing in the the right direction.

What I am looking for is to add league tables to my web-site. The tables should show how successful each tipster is with their free tips which are published daily on my site. I am looking for a programm that lets me input their tips which is then automatically checked at the end of the day to see if it was a winner /loser etc...
Then transferring all of this data into a league system like the one racing-index presents----http://www.racing-index.com/tipsters...hs=1&type=back Maybe not as complicated but similair . would this be to complicated to do myself , I have some knowledge or would a software company be the route I should be going.

Any help would be grateful

Unfortunately, the best I can do is provide links to two videos on table styling (which the table at your link could do with, IMO). But there are other members more knowledgeable than myself on programming matters, who will be glad to help you with the functionality aspects of the table, so keep subscribed to the thread.

As the sites give good rank to those sites , which have designed their page using <div> tag but , it is easy to develop the site using <table> tag . Because using <table> , a single page can be created within a day . And it will be more effective .

The title can be misleading, by reading your post I see that it is not only a table that you are looking for. You need a database to store the tips, the votes, and a script to pull out the results and display them.

That script will build the results in an HTML table format but that is only like 10% of the whole process.

Creating the database, the form to submit the tips, the script to process the votes and the script to get the statistics are the most time-consuming parts. I don't know of any free/open source system for doing that but any qualified programmer could do it.
