Most programming tutorials that claim to be for beginners, seem to assume the student already knows a lot about the subject.
This series on PHP definitely breaks that mold. IMHO,
Stefan Mischool has a gift for teaching. His style is slow, repetitive and assuring, unlike the mad rush to stuff as much information as possible into your head in the shortest time possible, that I see far too often with other tutorials.
Trust me, once you have a desire to learn PHP, you are going to gain
something from these screencasts. Just remember to practice what is learned as you progress through the series. And there’s no harm in viewing a screencast more than once!
Please Note: - Not all of the videos in the series are available at that link. The others, with the exception of Processing Forms - Part 2, can be found here. (The titles may vary slightly but they are the same screencasts. Just seek and ye shall find!)
- There are actually two (2) versions of “PHP Sessions Part 1”: This page contains both.
A
similar series on JavaScript was done but only the first ten screencasts are free. Well worth viewing, nevertheless.
