Hi there
Not sure if this is the right place for this so apologies in advance if not.
I have a client that requires live inventory updates between her shop and the yet to be developed online store. If a purchase is made on either the online store or the shop, inventory should be updated and reflected in the online store and the shop.
Client uses MYOB Retail. There is no decision yet on which online store solution to use yet although I was hoping for CS Cart as that's the one I'm most familiar with.
I think I can get my developer to write some bespoke code to mangage the link between MYOB and the online store . I...um...*cough* haven't talked to him yet but I'm sure he can
Questions:
1. Has anyone done this before? How did you do it?
2. The server I'll be using for the site runs Linux. Will this present a problem when setting up the MYOB <-> website link? Should the server be running Win Server?
3. I'm assuming it would be a case of using whatever ODBC driver does the job and coding arond that?? I don't believe there is an API at present. Sorry for the terminology, I'm a designer not a coder

4. I noticed that there's a product called MYOB EXONet that seems to do the job although I haven't researched this much. I'm going to call MYOB on Monday and ask.
5. There also seems to be extra licenses that need to be purchased from MYOB to enable the read/write access required. Is this correct?
Like I said, I'm going to call the MYOB dudes and see what they have to say but It'd be great to get some experience from others as well.
Any input no matter how small is always appreciated.
Thanks!
A.
