.htaccess not working - i need help

i recently switched to godaddy shared hosting linux, matter is i have a self coded script and its working fine on the root of domain but when i point it to a addon domain it displays 404 error. and godaddy is saying that script have probluem, script is working fine on my other server and on godaddy root but its not working on my godaddy addon domain its displaying 404 error when i try to do mod_rewrite =( can u tell me how to fix ? this or if u can fix then i will pay..

I am not 100% certain this will work since it has been a while since I dealt with godaddy hosting. Where I have dirname change that to the directory name your files are located in when you view it via ftp or their control panel.

Your first 4 lines in the .htaccess file should be:

Options +Indexes
Options 
+FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase 
/dirname
There are a couple of other things it might be also one of which is:

you might need to add a leading / right after the ^ on each line.

Godaddy is a bit ornery to deal with htaccess
