best XHTML code to inclide a mp4 file

Hi,

what is the best code to include a mp4 video file to a website?
My naive (I'm not a webdesigner) approach is:
HTML Code:
<object type="video/mp4" height="340" width="240" standby="Das Video wird geladen..." data="http://www.randspringer.de/graphics/lasker2010.mp4"> <param name="src" value="http://www.randspringer.de/graphics/lasker2010.mp4" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.randspringer.de/graphics/lasker2010.mp4" /> <param name="autoplay" value="false" /> <param name="autostart" value="0" /> <param name="pluginspage" value="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/" /> </object>
You can visit this example at:

http://www.randspringer.de/as/dud/lasker2010.html

Improvements are very welcome!

Thomas

The other approach (IMHO better) is to use Flash player to play mp4 video content.
http://flowplayer.org/ is a good and free solution.

Not every PC will have a web browser plugin capable of playing .mp4 video file installed. Whereas almost 95% will have Flash Player.

Ok. Should I convert the mp4 file to "original flash format" or is it not necessary?
Can you give a code example based on that you see above?

You will need to convert your .mp4 to .flv, use free Riva Encoder

Next you can use free FlowPlayer to embed video into your web site.
