Global Replace in Dreamweaver?

I have about 100 pages that all need the same code changed. I've been using Dreamweaver for a couple months and need to know how to do this.

How can I find the same code in each page and replace it with the same, but different code.

you have to have the documents open i think, but int he find and replace box, change it from current document to open documents.

Open dreamweaver, select EDIT > FIND and REPLACE. Under the "Find In" dropdown menu there should be an option for folder. Select the folder and enter the code you are looking for in the first box and the new code in the second box and click on the "Replace All" button.

This will work using Dreamweaver MX.

That seems like an awesome feature though.

It used to be part of Homesite. But when Dreamweaver MX got merged together with Homesite it inherited the code. It's a time saver.

I'll try it tommorow on the office computer. If it works great, except for the couple of hours I put in today until I fugured there had to be a better way.

Make sure you make a backup. Bulk search and replace can do serious damage when used incorrectly. Also keep in mind that the code needs to be exact in order for it to be replaced.

<TR> <TD> is not the same as <TR><TD>

It may be silly for me to mention it but it could save you some time wondering why some things don't get replaced.

Worked like a charm. It was so simple once I saw it. I didn't take the time before to see that there was a folder option. That is really helpful.
