PHP and MySQL

Just got a book (You can see it Here)

It cost my mom 24.99 I think, should've gotten it online

Oh, and it's only 572 pages so you can start changing my user rank to "PHP Master" now

I'm going to start reading now while browsing the web, hopefully I'll learn quite a bit

I care I don't think it is a waste of money. I bought a similar one written by the same person. And if I actually had the attention span to read it, I might know a lot more than I actually know

(Reading a book is how I learned HTML)

lol Sara I ge that problem with books - any book that's too long loses my interest and I have to explore the concepts I've read in it before I feel like reading the rest!

reading a book to learn a script is the best thing! i learnt most of PHP through a book, it's better than the net as it's written complete - ie. you don't have to search around and learn bits here and there. a book enables you to learn every aspect of a language from start to finish and what's more, you don't get distracted!

i like having a large library of books. True you can find just about anything you want online but there is something about not having to run to the search page every time you have a question. Plus books often come with software and demo scripts that they use in the books so you can screw with them all you want and you dont have to worry about breaking anything cause you hve the source.

Well, yeah, the attention thing isn't bad as I thought it might be...

It is very visual and fun to learn PHP

I did try the download script and see what it does method but I was so lost I didn't know where to start, I'm starting to understand more and more now though.

Yeah, the author created an entire website full of the scripts we make in the book and references and links. It's another big help for me.
