Css - TD Rollover

How can I do it so when I roll over a TD, a part of it changes, like lets say the BG.

http://www.v7n.com/forums/attachment...tachmentid=909

In the header, I have those few links on the top right. I want to have them text but when I rollover them, those little red boxes turn into the blue I have on top of the home link. Is there a way to do this or should I just make them rollover images like always?

No, make the red/blue part an image rollover and then keep the text instead

(I think that is what you were asking?)

wouldn't a border-right work for that? or a right-aligned list with those boxes for bullets? i've done something similar here: http://www.3howards.com/templates/template005/ on the main nav list below the logo

I believe he wants the text to be the same and the background color to change. You'd have to write a function or something but I'm not sure how... can't remember

I dont want the whole background to change, just those boxes on the right. If I make those boxes using a right-border, can I have the color change on the rollover?

put a class (we'll say class="topnav") on the cells that have the nav items, then use the following code in the style portion of your head, or in a css file.

Code:
a.topnav:hover, a.topnav:visited:hover { border-right:2px solid blue; } a.topnav:link, a.topnav:visited { border-right:2px solid red; }
That should do it for you.

oh yeah, that's because i didn't include the border on the regular link attribute only on hover, but it would work the same way ... just as insitedev just posted
