PHP Subdirectory Issue

I am having a problem.

I use Dreamweaver MX 2004, and when I save a .php file to a subdirectory it asks me to "Update links?"

If I say "YES," then it rewrites all of my header links (turns /menu into subdirectory/menu and all of that other stuff).

If I say "NO" my page is just full of errors.

I have not done a lot of PHP stuff in the past, and this is just way over my head...any suggestions?

Thank you!

homeschooled is an unknown quantity at this point
Did you try to disable it?

Disable it by:

Edit > Preferences > General > Document Options > Update Links When Moving Files

HTH.

Just something stupid on my part...I had to update the header and footer links with full URLs (duh!) - not sure why I didn't look at that first. (bangs head on table repeatedly)

Thanks!

Just a gentle suggestion, learn to write HTML and you life using PHP will be a lot easier.

What you have done is okay, properly constructed relative links would be a little easier on the server.
