Starting Programing

Well This is my first post
Am a Novice at programing (I know HTML) and I have some experience (designed the following bioland-geo.com web page with the help of WYSIWYG).
so I want to advance and start PHP my SQL.
Do you think that i should stay a bit longer in html?
And which book should i read?
