The script is pretty well commented if you wish to learn how it works, just dive in.
The setup is fairly easy too.
The readme has more information but you really only need to unzip all the files to the directories, update the shoutoptions.php file in ShoutBoxFiles/ for your database variables, upload the directories and ShoutLogin.php, execute ShoutLogin.php and it will create the tables and your admin account for you.
Then just include the shoutbox where you want it. (For more information on including the shoutbox, read the readme.)
