Thumbs down 3 Questions About Hacked Wordpress Sites

1. Can you get a virus or a trojan or other nasty by simply visiting a Wordpress site that has a hacker's message displayed on the site?

2. How do you ensure that all the hackers files have been removed from your site - do you do this yourself or get your hosting company to do it for you?

3. If you have a virus or trojan on your computer, can it be uploaded to your Wordpress site when you login to your dashboard or hosting panel to work on your site?

You could on many levels IMHO. People have found ways to manipulate the code on even wordpress themes. I think it works as it would with any other site. It's always safer to make sure that everything you download and upload is scanned before using it. Having a good antivirus would also be a good idea. Nowdays a lot of browsers block a site that has suspicious code, but its not foolproof.

Firefox 7. I have IE9, but haven't really used it much except when site testing. Firefox does block suspicious sites, last I checked, and I know Chrome does as well.

Just a text message? No.

You do it yourself or you hire a developer to do it. How is it done? Experience.

If that's what it was written to do, yes. If not, no.
