Good slideshow/banner tool.

Hey all.

I am looking for a slideshow or scrolling banner that scrolls through a few different images, each of which needs to be clickable (which would then link to another page on the site).

The slideshow needs to sit inside the main "content" div.

The problem I have encountered is that my website is not fixed width, it expands and contracts depending on the screen resolution in use.

This results in a very small slideshow for users with larger resolutions. So I need one that fills out to the width of the containing div...if that makes sense.

Does anyone know of any scripts/flash apps etc that do all this?

Any help greatly appreciated I have spent wayyyy too long on this problem .

Regards, John.

I have used this one to do what you want:
jQuery Cycle Plugin (with Transition Definitions)
Examples and documentation at: http://jquery.malsup.com/cycle/

I included the actual width and height of the images. If you set the width of the image to a percentage that might work. The only thing is it might slow down the rendering of the page because the browser doesn't know how much space to leave for the height.

HTML <img> width Attribute

Yeah setting width to 100% hasn't worked for me with other scripts, as you mention the height becomes an issue and half the slideshow ends up getting cut off at the bottom on higher resolutions.

I'll give this one a go though, thanks.

I think a flash slideshow may be my best bet (I know scary). I've found some stuff about using action script to achieve this but would rather just buy one that already does it and is all compiled at this point .
