Where exactly do I put the ALT text? I put it after

target="_blank"

and it didn't show up...

It goes in the img tag, not the link tag.

It doesn't show in Firefox or Opera i don't think, you need to use title="blah" for that.

Yes it does not matter as long as inside the <img> tag. Remember it's called "alt text" because it's shown in place of image once it's missing or is chosen not to be displayed.

Yep, IE displays it in a box on mouseover but most browsers display it instead of the image if it isn't loaded.
