Help with Facebook Button on website - it doesn't grab the right pic to post

I am putting a Facebook like button on my product pages. It is working properly except it is grabbing a random .jpg from the page and posting it on facebook. How can I make it grab a certain .jpg instead?

Right now it grabs random text jpg's or border jpg's which look very tacky and confusing to people reading the posts on facebook.

Any ideas?

Thank you for any help!
Kelly

try to add og:image meta to properly set it, facebook has a priority in reading og data

<meta property="og:image" content="thumbnail_image" />

Read it here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/share/

I am using Netscape Composer, and older edition. It is the one that I learned how to make websites with. I am wanting to graduate to another WYSIWYG but I really don't have much time to shop around and check reviews. Any personal preferences or ideas on a better, preferrably free, WYSIWYG would be SO much appreciated!

Thank you, JohnnyS for the info...I am going to give it a try!

Update on Facebook problem...

Well, I tried adding the Meta Properties tags and that did not work. I think it's a netscape composer issue, though. I kept putting the tag in the head as a "meta property" and it would not save it in there. It did save it as a "meta name" tag, though, but after testing it that did not make the .jpg I specified show up in my FB post, nor the title or description. It still just grabbed a random .jpg and random wording. Any ideas or comments?

Thank you so much!

Boy that is old!

Not a big fan of WYSWYG HTML editors. Why? Because you don't learn anything pushing buttons and they tend to add bloated coding. You don't learn how to fix things when they go sour.

You could have a look at the results for this search: free wysiwyg html editor and see which one works out best for you.

Try setting your form up for a multipart use.

<form method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" accept-charset="UTF-8" >

The enctype="multipart/form-data" is key.

Hope that works for you.

the og metas are not really a standard meta names that's why you editor doesn't know it. try to edit it by code from there you can put the og metas easily..

why not try Notepad++, its a free text editor
