How do i create MYSQL password seems default password is blank for Test Database

I have MYSQL installed in my machine, i have test database i think it comes by default once you install mysql on machine.

now how do i create password for Database.

i think default password and username is BLANK.

the default username is root, to create database password navigate to mysql install folder and edit the password from the ini file

Can we open Localhost/phpmyAdmin if I change the root password ?

Is there a file called mysql console?
If yes I can tell you what changes to make...

please tell where is this file located,

Hi,

I have mysql installed in my machine along with Xampp server, i want to change the root password for my database, test , can anyone guide me steps for the same in windows.

You are using Xampp?
OK then here are the steps
First start Xampp (Xampp Control Panel) and start Apache and mysql
now go to your browser and copy paste this-
http://localhost/security/xamppsecurity.php
You will see the required fields where you can change your password for phpMyAdmin
Go ahead and change it
Now when you go to phpMyAdmin you will be asked a username and password
username: root
password: whatever you set as your password
there you go, done!
