Need Help on layout break point based on actual screen size.

This is about responsive layout design.

I am using percentage based layout only so it fits to most resolutions.
But I need break out of layout on same pixel resolution on different devices.

Let me explain in other words with example.
I need only one column in my layout while it is viewed in 1024px wide Galaxy Tab and I need 2 columns in my layout while it is viewed in 1024px wide computer screen.

Actually screen size of 1024 wide Tab(about 7") and computer (about 14") is different.

Kindly advise.

for that purpose, you need to use min-width and min-height for those particular break points.

I would have a look in to media queries, I think these may be the best bet, you might be able to add rules in to float the content in column A (which is actually 2 different columns B & C) differently depending on the client resolutions

Good to remind people that there is no such thing as an 'inch' when it comes to device resolution.
By this I mean that 1" on my 19" (1024x76 screen is going to to give me a different number of pixels than on my iPad (1024x76 9.7" screen.
