Post What is HTML5

HTML5 is the next generation and fifth version of HTML technology for content-rich website development.

HTML5 is the newest hyper text markup language for websites from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The first draft was made public in 2008, but not much happened until 2011. In 2011, HTML5 was released and people started writing about it and using it, but the support in different browsers was still poor.

HTML5 is the latest addition to the World Wide Web. Our experience in HTML5 development empowers us to take up challenging project and deliver promising results with utmost perfection.

Today all major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, IE) offer HTML5 support, therefore the newest HTML technology can be used at its best today.

Some of the most interesting new features in HTML5:
  1. The <canvas> element for 2D drawing
  2. The <video> and <audio> elements for media playback
  3. Support for local storage
  4. New content-specific elements, like <article>, <footer>, <header>, <nav>, <section>
  5. New form controls, like calendar, date, time, email, url, search

Most relevant to me, it simplifies a lot of the ugliness of HTML 4.x, especially with the DOCTYPEs:
Code:
<!-- removed, see below --> <head> <title>Blah</title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" type="text/css" /> </head> <body> <div id="wrapper"> <div id="header"></div> <div id="content"></div> <div id="footer"></div> </div> </body> </html>
now looks like this:
Code:
<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title>Blah</title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" type="text/css" /> </head> <body> <div id="wrapper"> <header> </header> <article> Stuff here </article> <footer> </footer> </div> </body> </html>
EDIT: Since I cannot seem to input URLs, I base-64 encoded the HTML. To get the raw HTML, run this PHP script from command line or a web browser:
PHP Code:
<?
header("Content-Type: text/plain;charset=UTF-8");
$b64 = <<<EOBLOB
