What would be best for creating this project?

I've gone through the basics on Codecademy for jQuery, JavaScript and PHP and I want to start a project that basically does the following...

1. Displays 3 random pictures
2. The user must select an option of 3 options A, B and C for each picture
3. Submit it and perhaps receive a random message
4. Restarts and displays 3 more pictures.

It probably doesn't sound difficult to someone skilled but as I have only basic knowledge, I want to know what route I should take in working on this project that way I can spend time learning what I need to know to complete it. I'd really appreciate any help.

you don't need PHP with that kind of task, just Javascript and HTML.. by the way have you learned HTML?

Agreed, but server-side languages are always good to have at hand. There's a big fad about node.js at the moment, but I'm not entirely convinced by it.

To do this, break down the problem into simple steps.

1. How do you get the images and display them? Do you use an array? Do you want to randomly select items from the array?

2. How do you submit the form. Where to?

3. On what form submission conditions do you want to return data? Do you want form validation?

Think about the problem step by step and work through it pragmatically.

I think you should start with any MVC, if you are going to use Database.

PHP MVC - Codeigniter
with HTML & JS frontend.

I would definitely steer clear of PHP for such a simple task, just JavaScript/jQuery will do the trick.

Learn some basics about programming design patterns, as dealkhojo said you should start from MVC.
