SMS Sender

Hey all-
I need something similar to the SMS sender on robouk.mchost.com, where when people send the form it goes straight to my cell phone...how do I do this? Know any tutorials?

What provider do you have for your cellphone? If you have Verizon Wireless or Sprint PCS, you can just use a special account they have setup. I believe all customers who have text messaging can use this. The account for VZW would be 1235551212@vtext.com (replace the number with your cellphone number). I cannot remember what Sprint's is. If you are like me and have a Cricket phone then you are out of luck. Their SMS messaging only works from the website.

I'm with Vodafone UK and I would like to also place an sms form on my site, where can I get the script from and how does the form detect my mobile number?

L E E, you're out of luck, it's alot harder to do it with ANY UK provider... You can't get people to send you SMS via websites, or via MSN, but mostly it has to be paid for by the sender.

If it's something you could really do with, I'd contact Vodafone themselves... But I'm very doubtful it can be done in the UK (without a fairly large cost...)

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I in a mobile phone shop
(NokiaFix) and I haven't heard of anyway of doing it...

I have Question...Please Help...I'm from Poland and i have Friend in UK...i have mobile number to him but i don't know where can i send sms to him from the internet...+447742...this is the piece of the number i don't know what operator it is please help...

if you have his phone number just send it to his phone from yours, if you don't, you can't do it anyway.

I think sms.ac would allow you to do this!

Hi,

You're right, when you're in the UK, you can't just drop an email like 079543895789@vodafone.co.uk and expect it to go somewhere. It only works like that for US and Canadian mobile companies. You need to either pay for SMSC or a company with access to an SMSC

There is another way to get the SMS sent in the UK, but I can't really post it in a public forum like this. If you're interested, you'll need to send me a private message.
