Exclamation I/O CAP & Cache help

To forum admins: I was torn between what area to post this as it could have gon in eather web hosting, Coding & blogging so i apolagize if you feel i chose wrong

I have a wordpress installation on just a general cpanel hosting account
my issues started when my site began to get alot of traffic "do to good seo efforts on my part"

Using the standard caching methods with total cache plugin I started to see huge spikes in my I/o Output. after some research i kinda understood its probly my caching plugin fault as most settings were using "disk" as cache.
which began to cap out my hosting i/o cap of 4MB.

There is alternative methods of caching such as Xcache, eaccelerator, ALternative php cache apc.

Now besides my I/o limit being hit probly 50+times a day no other resource limit is a issue. physical memory is sitting around 108.8 / 4096 MB
cpu is stilling around 1-5% during peek traffic times.

Question time !lol!..

What alternative caching method could i use that could lower my i/o ussage "if in fact my disk caching is causing it" - Also any advise on how to pin point for sure the cause

is there any that utilize memory , also how hard are they on that resource?

The hosting company im with had been good to me and dont want to move but im on there top package without moving to a dedicated server. and with my only issue being i/o limit im hoping i could just even the load between the the rest of the servers resources.

Yes im using a CDN 2

Thoughts? Opinions?
