Post Can we send mail via loacalhost

I am building a web application using Java Servlet and JSP, I want to send confirmation email using localhost. Is it possible?...And if yes, How?

To some degreee you can but I have never used either of these mail servers: http://www.pmail.com/

Yes, it is possible.
I have done it in PHP before.
The weirdest part... When you create an Email sending in PHP.. It allows you to put the From address.... So you can straight up type like admin@google.com and it will straight up arrive as if it came from that to anyone you send it to. Wish I still had mine

Yes, you can. But I will never recommend it. Your IP address will be blocked in sometime and if you have a static IP its a big NO.

yes you can send i am using php and wamp server to send emails simply by using ceritificate cacert.pem

Make sure the sender email matches the domain/IP it is sent from, and use SMTP with SSL. Better yet, run your mail sending via a service such as mandrill.
