SSI Include vs. PHP Include

Is there any difference between the two? Specifically when it comes to search engine spiders and being SEO friendly?

Different ways of handeling the same issues.

SSI is, if I remember correctly, an Apache thing. PHP just needs PHP.

I'm pretty sure both run about equal when it comes to SEO. I like PHP includes better myself because the code makes more sense, so it's easier for me to remember.

My biggest concern was with how the PHP include works. For the SSI, I know the code is put into the page so that it looks like there was no include code at all. Im not sure if thats how PHP include works as well...ill give it a try and report back, unless anyone else knows.

For one thing, PHP include is a lot easier

Plus, if you're going to use PHP, you can use PHP scripting on your includes

A regular SSI cannot.
