favicon.ico problem

This is by all means the absolute dumbest question I've ever asked on v7n.

How do I get rid of my Joomla favicon???

I erased it, replaced, and everything else you can think of and it still shows up no matter what.

Cleared cookies, cleared cache... did everything I could think of and sure enough the joomla favicon.ico is still there.

????? i'm at a loss....

my site is: www.thepokerboard.com

I even replaced it w/ a US flag favicon which will show up randomly at times but the joomla favicon just will not go away. I've never been so much at a loss as something so simple as this.

This is something that I should have fixed in 2 seconds.

Well on your homepage your favicon.ico is http://thepokerboard.com/images/favicon.ico and it's the joomla for me, I'll see elsewhere to see if something is changing that somehow. But for starts, make sure that file is what you want it to be?

how long ago did you delete it? And do you have a dedicated server or what? Also is it on some pages that it still appears or just randomly a page will show it?

That is strange. Try deleting it again in your Media Manager. Then upload your new favicon. Make sure it is saved as favicon.ico and then clear your cache and see if that works. I'm not sure what what cause that though. I do see when I go to you images path that it is still the joomla one.

Lightbulb Same ole Same ole

I faced this problem as well. Then I thought ..... hummm, I will go look at my site from a different PC. Lo and behold, I could see my favicon.ico that I had replaced Joomla's with.

So I went to your websites, and good-news, I see your favicon.ico on both sites.

It seems that those ole Joomla favicon.ico's stay for the long haul in the cookies and are hidden somewhere. Nonetheless, it does work to simply replace yours with theirs!

It's from what PC after doing so that matters.

I love Joomla, but when things go weird like the Twilight Zone, they get real weird!

Happy Jooming!
