.htaccess file handling

I have some conflicts.

Just a quick hint...there are a lot of people here who have worked with .htaccess file. If you ask a more specific question then you are much more likely to get an answer. You question is just too broad. Let us know what the conflict or problem is and we'll try to help.

Ya sorry you are right my question is realy too broad.

Actually i just want to hide the query string value simple saying i want to change the url

http://www.mysite.com/items_distinct...=102&mpid=1002

to the url

http://www.mysite.com/items_distinct/102/1002
or
http://www.mysite.com/items_distinct/

so i just want to know how to do this. I have tried it and i made it but then the variables passed are not accessable in the page so if u people just tell me how to handle those variables ?

RewriteRule ^/items_dictinct/([0-9]+)/([0-9]+)$ items_distinct.php?spid=$1&mpid=$2 [L]
