phpBB 2.0.19 mass account removal

Is there a simple way to remove multiple accounts at the same time with phpBB 2.0.19? Like most forums, mine is pelted with spam accounts regularly. If there's an easy solution posted elsewhere in this forum please excuse me, I wasn't able to find it.

Hey watley! Your posting over here in the code forum? It is one of my haunts but unfortunately, I haven't worked with phpBB at all. Hope somebody has an answer for you!

After a little creative googling, I found this. Don't know if it is any good but it does mention support mass user account deletion. Maybe Jay Cee or some others have used it and can comment?

This is a features page and has a link for the download from the forum.

Nice find, Taltos.

I read through all that and it sounds interesting.
Some great tools included in one nice package.
I personally haven't used it, but I'll DL and install it this weekend on one of my forums.
I'll let you guys know how it works.

Well, looks like the weekend came earlier.....

I DL'd & installed this little tool kit and really like it.
Installation was as super easy compared to the mod install I suggested earlier.
All that it needed was an upload to the server and then displaying the page.
On the first run, it asked me to create a password and away it went.
No php codes to edit, no tables to create, seriously no muss, no fuss.

Playing around with the features for a bit, and IMHO it's definately a "must have" for phpbb forums.
All it takes to perform several actions on one or more users is a few simple mouse clicks.
Also has a section to edit board settings, and a nifty security scan.
The scan checks if the board & toolkit versions are up to date, for potentially hacked user accounts, and for any malicious code in the forum or site descriptions.

I tried a couple hacks on the toolkit (that I know of) to see if there were any security flaws, but so far I haven't found any.
All in all....I think it's a clean, simple and very useful tool for anyone who runs a phpbb forum.
Again Taltos, nice find on the toolkit.

:Off-Topic:
Yes Taltos, that is me in my avy....

If you are comfortable with using PhpMyAdmin, you can easily mass delete users directly by removing them from the database from there. At least, the last time i used phpbb, that was what I did.

Best,
Ana

The toolkit was a success, it's a lot easier to handle now. Thanks.

I prefer not to monkey with databases directly unless I really have to. I may seem like a handsome and suavely competent coder, but half the time I can't figure out how to spell HTML, and for me, SQL is what comes after the FRST MVIE.
