Trying to redirect all amazon links to my amazon associates referral link.

Hi. First off, I want to say, GREAT FORUM. Seriously. As a newbie at websites, this site has helped me so much. I just opened my site about a month ago, and am pleased with it so far, but I have a lot of work ahead of me.

Anyway, my question is, I signed up for the amazon associates program (they basically pay me some commission for any referrals I bring them). I have seen sites such as fatwallet.com or slickdeals.net in which all amazon links are automatically converted to a referral link. So, if a certain user on the fatwallet forums finds a deal at amazon and posts the link to it, any user who clicks on the link from fatwallet automatically has the link converted so that it goes to the same product, but includes the referral link. I was wondering how I would go about doing this. Thanks.

I believe all you have to do is add tag=affilliateid-20 to the URL.

Thanks for the response. I was wondering if there was a way to make that standard though. Like, if any user on my site were to post a link, it would automatically add 'tag=affilliateid-20' to the end of it, without anyone have to manually add it each time.

Well, if your site is written in Php, and the url that the user has posted is in a variable called $url, then you could just do this:

Code:
$url .= '&tag=affid';

Amazon just started a new contextual link program that should convert links in your posts to amazon referral links. Check out the info in your Amazon associate account. I haven't examined this because the links become bubble ads and I don't like bubble ads on my sites.
