Timeline in Dreamweaver

I'm working on a site in Dreamweaver and trying to use the "timeline" to do some simple animation.

It works in firefox and safari, but not in explorer.

Can someone check it out for me?

Thanks

Seems to be working in IE7. At least the animation does. When I clicked the link I get 404 but I am assuming that is OK as it is a test of the splash animation?

IE for Mac

Maybe it is an IE for Mac issue. The Trophy Elk Logo comes on from the left then the two text images fade up?

Also another splash page question. I've never done one before. Do you usually label it index.htm? If so, how does that affect search engines? Could you just put your homepage content in text the same color as the background or in a hidden layer to help with that. Or is that considered a no-no?

Thanks,
Lauren

The test in the same color or on a hidden layer would be considered a no-no. That is one of the big reasons you don't see a lot of flash splash pages. You are talking one of the prime spots on the site and giving it up as far as SE are concerned. There are some ways around it with alt= and things like that but I haven't messed with those much. Saw a good list of suggestions somewhere here in the last few months. Try searching for flash SEO or something like that.

And if your problem is Mac IE then it is at best Mac IE 5.2 and WAY out of date. Evidently there are a few Mac users still using it. I have to admit as a designer, I completely ignore Mac IE. I don't even attempt to test for it. It is a major pain to do cross-browser compatibility for and a very tiny portion of any demographic I have cared about uses it. Good luck on that one.

It works in IE6 on Windows. For better compatibility, you might try the Scriptaculous or Prototype libraries for the animations.
