Coding HTML emails

Hi all.

been trying to code an html email and am having problems with the text displaying correctly (ie size, strength etc). Everything looks fine in Outlook Express but won't display properly in Outlook.

I first tried putting the styling within the body tags so they don't get stripped. e.g.

.bodytext {font-size:13px; font-weight:normal; color:#666666; font-family:Arial; line-height:20px;}

Then tried using inline styling but that doesn't seem to resolve the problem either. eg.

<div style="text-align:left; font-size:13px; font-weight:normal; color:#666666; font-family:Arial; line-height:20px;">Jet Black</div>

Any help would be appreciated. Also is anyone aware of a site where I can test this email to show how it renders in different email clients (preferably a free one !!)

cheers

Welcome, stumpy!

(Hmmm ... that was fun, I gotta do it again)

Welcome, stumpy!!

This may seem like a silly question, but is your Outlook set up to allow HTML/CSS/scripted mail? It uses different config options than OE.

The email is displaying properly in Outlook (2000 version) on my pc and on a friends pc with outlook. However, the guy I am sending it to is using Outlook 2003 and although he receives the html mail in terms of layout and images showing etc, some of the text formatiing is still not correct.

I guess the answer to your question is yes, he does have it set to receive html mail.

Any thing else I could try?

thanks
