Email form headaches

Hi guys, I'm a little perplexed as I don't seem to be getting emails from my email form. Several friends have tried using it without success IE6 on XP & Firefox on XP, yet my wife useing IE6 & NT4 was able to & I've used IE5 with Windows 95 (don't ask ;~) as well as IE7 on my Vista laptop & the email comes thru' fine. The code is a little odd as it's created from Web Page Maker 2.3.
' or e-mail us at: </font><font class="ws14" face="Garamond"><B><a href="mailto:fetch&#50&#64n&#116lworld.com" '

This can be found on the 'About Us' page on www.fetch.co.nr which is just a basic dog training site.

The ascii code is in there to prevent spam but I'm wondering if that's causing the problem.

Any comments/suggestions welcome as although I've 25 years IT experience, this is the 1st website I've designed.

Cheers

Undoubtedly. Not only will some mail clients have trouble parsing the ASCII code, but the way it's written will add to their confusion. Try properly formatting the ASCII references, whose syntax is 'ampersand+pound sign+code+semi-colon' ("& # 60 ;" with no spaces)(I'd have just typed the codes, but the forum translates them) at the least, and it's unlikely that munging your address string like that will keep the address out of the hands of spammers ... because the mailto: protocol gives it away ... so you might want to just bite the bullet and put the normal address in there.

Thanx 4 that James, I've put 2 'mailto:' forms on the site now, one without & one with the ascii code (correctly coded now, I think ;~).

One quirk is that one of my friends only gets the mailto panel behind the website, i.e. it's hidden. He then noticed that a new email program indicator had shown up in the taskbar at the foot of his screen. Is this an optional feature in Outlook 2003 or could it be related to his browser, IE6?

One final point, does anybody know of a way I can test my website under different browsers, email clients & possibly even OS's. Otherwise how do U guys know your immaculate website on your PC setup is as immaculate on another user's setup?

Cheers
