please help me edit one page and have all pages changed
hi, im tryin to get it so i can edit just one page and have all other pages edit too

it is a pain in the neck to have to go through EVERY SINGLE page and edit every single link on the nav bars or the banner or anything else.

i'm basically trying to do the SSI includes thing but it says that there is an error when trying to preform this function. PHP includes won't work anyway.

i'm sure there must be ANOTHER way to do to this because im sure not all of the huge sites in the world use either SSI or PHP includes...

so, can you please help? my site is http://xbox360-forums.com/xboxattacker for reference and i think i have done a good job today this is what it looked like before today http://xboxattacker.freehostia.com

No, it actually isn't a free host. Could it be I'm doing it wrong? Here is the index code... I pretty much want to use SSI for everything except the content (text/paragraph.) So, for the banner, copyright banner, both navbars, etc.

Personally I'm a big fan of master pages and asp, what about converting!? Master pages really are top dog my friend and if you've experimented with the orcas beta 2 (Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2) then you would know master pages and nested master pages really really are the way forward and Visual Studio 2008 is a must!

I have to agree with Boogle on this one. ASP.NET can do the job. Better than HTML though...

I suggest you too to consider converting your site to asp.net...

Send a message via Yahoo to Taltos
The other option to consider is Dreamweaver templates. Don't know if you have Dreamweaver but if so, check out their templates. Its a very similar idea to the ASP master pages but you won't have to convert to ASP. Good luck.

Basically you couldo with Visual Studio 2005, it's not free and although i don' condone it,it's been around a long time now and you could probably get it somewhere :-s

Then visual studio will do the rest for you if you can follow the instructions!

P.S. Dreamweaver templates are another option but it's like going back in time, you might as well get with the newer better techs.. Just mho,

Good point Tristan- if your site's only html atm, then it's probably on a Linux server and might need migrating to a ASP server, which should cost you nothing but for the enabling of ASP and such like, it could be an extra fee/month if you're paying for hosting- Not loads though...
