Can i embed video in an email?

i was wondering if i could send an email wiht out joining one of those video email sites where i can embed my flv files from my website on to a email so that when customers open the email they can click play and watch the video?

or how can i go about doing that.. i just want to have a customer open the email and see the video and click play.. is there a way to do it?

can i just embed it in the body of the email some how?

While it is more than possible, it is all in the site who hosts your email. You can create your own email network and let users who use your network embed, but other than that it is all dependant on the site you're sending it to. Attachments are always a good alternative.

Yeah it mostly depends on the recipient. Everyone uses a different email provider - whether it's gmail, hotmail, aol or even Outlook on their home pc. I don't think I have ever seen email with embedded video before. You can test it though. Make a Quicktime movie and Google how to embed quicktime into a html page. And then send a html laced email with the movie embedded (I usually use Outlook Express to send html based emails) - try sending it to a gmail account or hotmail account and see what happens.
