phpbb question - an easy one...

Ok, not sure if this is the right place for this, but...

I want to make my forum accessible to google to index, so I can get page rank for my forum. What mods do you recommend to allow google's robots and other search engine robots index the site? And if one mod is needed to make another one work properly, please list both. I'm trying to get the best. The degree of difficulty isn't an issue.

i think google indexes forums by default.

You want google to be able to crawl all your forums? Use the mod from phpbbhacks.com to remove session IDs, and you should be good... there are several "search engine" related mods/hacks, though... just check out phpbbhacks.com and phpbb.com and you'll find several...

I found that some board systems, like invisionboard, do not need to be modded for search engines to index the pages. (and I really wonder when phpBB will have it as default also.)

I know google isn't indexing my forum pages. My site is a pr3-pr4 (changes back and forth on occasion) but the forum is a 0. I'd like to get the forum indexed by google, for the visibility, the links into the forum, and the links out of the forum. Once Google gets in, it should have pr in no time.

I just installed the session id mod I found on phpbbhacks.com

Something didn't go right... www.triplehfanatic.com/forum There is supposed to be color and graphics on there... a red and black grunge style theme. Any one have any ideas what I screwed up and how to fix it? Thanks.

also, I still have session id's when I'm logged in. I can't log out and try, because after modifying the files, I don't have a log out area any more.

I'm so confused...

nevermind on the help now. it's fixed. turned out one of the files uploaded in binary that needed to be uploading in ascii.

Hey! jazdia.. I too want to install a forum on one of my adveture sports related website, and I too want it to be indexed regulary..
Can you please suggest me where to start from.. I will love using php and mysql... and too want it to be indexed by google.. Can I have something like IMr ..

Perhaps you installed the hack where only google and some of the other bots don't get ID's.
