PHP and Finding town in a database

Would I be able to make a database and have software look for towns at say 50 apart.

what do you mean by "50 apart?"

You can easily look for something in a database but you have to be more clear, ronnyd then we can help

Through longitude and latitude data and some clever algorithms you could search for towns "50 apart" (so long a 50 is some type of distance) ...
