add text to code view but not having it show on website

I would like to add text in the code view in Dreamweaver to help another person or direct them where to put text to properly show on the website. I was thinking of making notes in the code but i cant make notes without them showing on the webpage. is there a way to do this with lik // text text text text // type stuff?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can add HTML comments that won't show in browsers (but will be visible to anyone who looks at the page's source code).
