shopping cart

I am currently using Paypal's shopping cart and I don't like it.

I have looked at some, but using them would mean removing most of my webpages and starting new ones for the software. Very bad for SEO.

I am looking for one that can be hosted on my ISP's server (godaddy) and I am looking for a better solution. I would perfer not to have the software hosted elsewhere as it just makes things harder.

I am looking for:
-built in data base to show in stock items and track other functions
-show shopping cart totals and item totals on the same page all the time
-not have to change the webpages currently in use
-handle taxes for US and Canadian buyers by state/province, in US dollars
-use paypal for actual payment with others to be added later
-handle different shipping set rates depending on country
-easy for the user

This need came after looking at an ad by IBM and what they did to staples.com's site and the increase in sales that followed.

candypress.com will do it - it will also handle live rates UPS, USPS, fedex etc.

You have to have the windows option plan with godaddy and the 20 dollar meta tag mod.

candypress is basically comersus cart (they kinda borrowed the code....lol)

Meta tag mod - http://www.cppowermods.com/scripts/p...?idproduct=106

(the site pictured below was a freebie project for a nice lady)

The image below is the google spider coming thru - 0.00% means it was not indexed. This was before the mod was installed -

Notice only the first page of the cart was indexed (all the metas were the same)

after the mod was installed the spider ate all the pages.

no good deed goes unpunished...lol. The site was set up for wholesale - she got too much business and I asked me to convert to retail - I'll get to it someday......lol

she still gets too many wholesale inquires lol google just won't let it go....lol
wholesale hippie soap - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...le+hippie+soap
wholesale military soap - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...+military+soap
wholesale Native American soap - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...p+&btnG=Search
wholesale motorcycle soap - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...otorcycle+soap
wholesale biker soap - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...ale+biker+soap
wholesale Lighthouse soap - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...ap&btnG=Search

etc, etc, etc

If you need some help let me know (pm me) I'll lend a hand - I'd think about getting a better host, it will be worth it as long as you get a return on investment - a good host will cost about 35 a month, with unlimited email accounts, send size, good security and streaming video.).

Build lots of html pages, how tos etc. Video how tos will boost your positioning also.
Don't forget ebay - it will outsell your site (in most cases)

Bye the way - Paypal pro gateway is a pain in the butt (maybe they'll get it fixed someday).

Already started doing that.

Not lately. Sales on ebay are terrible. Fee increase and new feedback rules coming are making life terrible there.

One of the things about ebay is you have to optimize your keyword phrases there also - the lady from ISellsoap and a clothing manufacturer I know does killer on Ebay. Who gives a crap what the fees are as long as you get a return on your investment! Then when you send them the item you give them a coupon for your site.

Google and ebay are figthing right now - when they get over it Ebay items will make the top listings again. Until they do you have to target in ebay carefully.

Example - the site isn't optimized for retail yet but:

Going after a general term like "Hippie Soap" yea she made the top 10 in google, but the products should be broken down

Example: "peace sign Soap" , "groovy soap bars ", "60's 70's soap ", "Glycerin HIPPIE SOAP" now we're talking the conversion is much higher because she has exactly what they searched for. You don't need bunches of traffic only those looking for your product
Now ebay and google can work for her (in the engine and ebay) - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...=Google+Search

then you work on enticing other groups - but first get the direct sales

Hi guys, I've been using the Avactis shopping cart for some time, and I like its simplicity, so I think you can give it a try. It does support PayPal of course, and also Google Checkout, and all major CC processors.
Good luck with your shop anyway
