Back button goes back to top of page

Hi,

You know how with a lot of webpages, if you hit the back button it goes back to where you were on that page? (half way down or wherever the scrollbar was)

How come it just goes back to the top with my pages..
Is there a way to make it go back to the same position?

If you are using ASP.NET, it comes with a nice feature that will do this.

As for default capability, it is whatever the browser wants to do, basically. It also depends on the website you're viewing to. Some browsers update the content even when you hit the back button (sometimes it's server's fault for sending wrong headers), and this would cause it to scroll to the top of the page.
