CGI problem

Hi all,

Kind of new to this so bare with me. I recently added a form to a customers site. This is my 1st attempt with CGI. I downloaded a script and modified it as per the instructions and I get an error when I test it. I've searched for possible reasons and fixes for the error but I'm at a loss.

Error message:

Method Not Allowed
The requested method POST is not allowed for the URL /index.html.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The simpler the better, I'm an old dog.

Thank you

Did you put the cgi program in the cgi-bin as some host will not run cgi out of the cgi-bin.

There may also be some problem with the host so I would contact them as see what they have to say.

Yes the script did go into the cgi-bin. I am waiting to hear from the hosting company to see if they have a block on the mail script as some companies do.

Thank for the suggestions.
