how to create web poll ?

Hello Folks,
I would like to create a web poll to put on my website ?
I would appreciate if anyone can throw some ideas here on what technology to use and any sample example ?

There are many types of polls that you could use under various backend languages. Popular ones are PHP and ASP.NET and Cold Fusion. It all comes down to what you can do.

Is their any java based poll application that I can create ?

Javascript should be also ok

That's not Java, that's just straight ASP.

What server are you on? Apache/Linux or Windows (IIS) ?

I am running my app on Tomcat.

But anywho, what languages are you currently supporting? Obviously not ASP.NET, so maybe PHP?
